Shoujen Scholars Program
The Shoujen Scholars Program (SSP) is a fully funded, 11-week Mandarin language-learning experience with the core mission of breaking down barriers and providing accessible Chinese education for individuals who are enthusiastic about learning but may encounter resource limitations.
Participants not only receive free online lessons and comprehensive course materials — including weekly quizzes and access to an affordable textbook — but they also benefit from unwavering support and guidance throughout their journey, including access to award-winning instructors and the thriving SSP Scholar Network.

Effective Curriculum
Our curriculum is meticulously crafted by award-winning instructors, ensuring an optimized learning experience tailored specifically to SSP students, maximizing language acquisition and mastery over the course of 11 weeks.
Varied Learning Environments
Our initial session is held virtually on Zoom for the purpose of allowing the cohort to familiarize themselves with each other and build community, while also providing opportunities for students to ask questions live. We understand that due to the busy nature of our scholars’ lives, not everyone can make the same time for online classes. So for our later lessons, we transition to an asynchronous format. Not only can students learn at their own pace, but they also have continued access to learning support at their fingertips.
Comprehensive Resources
In addition to our engaging video lessons, we've introduced an optional complementary course book, discounted at an exclusive rate for SSP scholars. This comprehensive resource provides a robust supplement to students' language journeys.
